AEA's primary goal and mission of furthering the knowledge and professionalism of the escrow settlement professional through education continues to be achieved by its offering of events and educational opportunities such as the Annual Conference and Networking Symposium.
These events bring together outstanding speakers, settlement industry leaders, legislative and regulatory updates, as well as provide an excellent forum for exchange of information with representatives from related industry organizations. In addition, they provide networking opportunities with other settlement professionals. Each AEA event offers education directed specifically to the settlement desk.
AEA will have a leading role at the March 2009 Washington DC meeting of the Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) sessions on mortgage fraud prevention and will lead a session on the closing agent's position (opportunities and limitations) in this regard.
AEA lends its transactional knowledge and expertise in the settlement industry in national initiatives involving Best Practices and
e-Technology (formally National Standards/Technology). Recognizing that education, communication and networking are vital in today’s working climate, AEA was a charter member in the formation of the educational alliance PREP – Property Records Education Partners.
AEA maintains a Speakers Bureau in an effort to help facilitate continuing education to interested organizations.
